you have questions.
we have answers

There isn’t a silly question about moving somewhere new.
You might want to know about your phone before you want to know anything else.
Fair enough.

CAN I BRING MY OWN THINGS?

Yes. You can bring your personal belongings and you’ll be able to make your bedroom your own.

CAN I BRING MY PHONE AND GAMES?

Yes. You can bring your phone, games and technology. Sometimes there may be individual agreements about how they are used to help keep you safe. If that applies to you, it will be explained properly.

WILL I GET POCKET MONEY?

Yes. You will receive weekly pocket money depending on your age. There may also be opportunities to earn a little extra by helping around the house.

CAN I CARRY ON DOING THE THINGS I ENJOY?

Absolutely. We’ll encourage you to keep doing the things that matter to you and can help you find new activities if there is something you would like to try.

WILL I BE ABLE TO GO OUT ON MY OWN?

That depends on you, your age, your plans and what is safe. The adults around you will help you build trust, skills and confidence as you work towards greater independence.

WHAT TIME WILL I HAVE TO GO TO BED?

Bedtime is not identical for every child. It depends on things such as your age and individual needs. The team at your home will explain what that looks like for you.

WHAT IS A KEY adult?

Every child has a key adult. They get to know you well, help with everyday needs, goals and appointments, attend important meetings and help make sure your views are heard.

WHAT IF I’M NOT HAPPY ABOUT SOMETHING?

Tell us. You can speak to an adult, ask for a complaint form, write something down or ask somebody to help you explain it. We want to know when something is not right so we can look at what needs to happen next.

WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW HOW TO SAY WHAT I’M THINKING?

That’s okay. You can write your questions down if that feels easier, or ask someone you trust to help you start the conversation.

the rubicon way

relationships first

The relationship comes before the framework. We take time to build trust, stay consistent and be there through the ordinary days as well as the difficult ones.

known properly

A child is more than their history or the information written about them. We get to know the person - their strengths, interests, humour, relationships and what helps them feel understood.

always thinking

What works for one child may not work for another. Our teams stay curious, reflect on what they’re seeing and adapt as they learn more about the individual child.

Knowing What To Expect Can Make Things Feel A Little Easier.
