our comittment to the environment
caring for where we live and the world around us
Caring doesn’t stop at the front door. The choices we make in our homes affect the people, places and world around us - and we want children to grow up knowing that the small things they do can make a difference too.

small choices every day
LOOKING AFTER HOME MEANS MORE THAN ONE THING.
Being environmentally conscious at Rubicon isn’t about being perfect. It’s about paying attention to the choices we make and looking for better ones where we can.
Across our homes, that means choosing environmentally responsible products, reducing unnecessary waste and looking locally when we buy and source things. As we develop this work, we’ll continue looking at where changes can be made in ways that are practical, meaningful and sustainable.
Just as importantly, children can be part of it. Everyday life creates plenty of opportunities to understand where things come from, why we look after them and what it means to care for the environment we all share.

choose with care
Eco-conscious products and thoughtful choices wherever practical.

look local first
Supporting local suppliers and communities where we can.

waste a little less
Reducing waste, reusing what we can and making things last.

CHILDREN ARE always a big PART OF IT.
We don’t want environmental responsibility to exist as something written in a document that children never see. It can be part of ordinary life.
That might mean thinking about what we buy, recycling together, growing something, spending time outdoors, choosing local, wasting less or simply understanding why looking after the places around us matters.
There is learning in those everyday choices too: responsibility, independence, curiosity and an understanding that our actions have an impact beyond ourselves.
And perhaps most importantly, it gives children a part to play. Looking after their home, their community and their environment isn’t simply something adults do around them. It is something they can contribute to, question and influence too.
our footprint matters here
where we're headed
BETTER IS SOMETHING WE KEEP WORKING AT.
Becoming a more environmentally conscious organisation is an ongoing commitment. We’re looking more closely at what we use, where it comes from and what we can do differently across our homes.
Some changes will be small. Others will take more time. What matters is that we keep asking the question and making better choices where we can.
Because caring for children and caring about the world they’ll grow up in belong in the same conversation.

Care For People. Care For Place. Care For What Comes Next.
