Residential Support Worker
SEAFORD · PERMANENT · FULL-TIME

We are recruiting permanent full-time Residential Support Workers in Seaford.
The role is based on our belief that all children can settle, grow and succeed when they have the right environment and relationships around them. The safety and wellbeing of the children in our care is always central to the work, alongside helping each child achieve the best possible outcomes.

hours + rota

70 hours per fortnight on a two-week rolling rota, comprising 14-hour shifts and one sleep-in per week. Weekend availability is essential, with the rota including alternate weekends.

WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES

As part of the residential team, you'll help create a safe, warm and supportive home for the children living at Rubicon.

Your role will include:

- building positive and consistent relationships with children
- supporting everyday routines, activities and life within the home
- contributing to individual care plans, records and reviews
- providing key-work support to individual children
- supporting relationships with families and working alongside social workers and other professionals
- taking part in supervision, team meetings and training
- responding calmly when situations become difficult and using your training, where necessary, to help keep children, yourself and others safe.

DO I NEED EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATIONS?

YOU DON'T NEED TO ARRIVE WITH EVERYTHING.
No specific childcare qualification is required. You'll receive a thorough induction and training programme, and Rubicon will financially support you to undertake a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare.

You'll need good written and verbal communication skills, a willingness to learn and the ability to build appropriate relationships with children. You'll also need to be able to work the required shift pattern, including weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.
